Paul, who's been living and teaching in London, brings Amy, his English fiancé, home to meet his family. It's New Year's Eve. The custom in Paul's quirky family is to welcome the New Year by awarding the Dodo of the Year trophy to that person who has done the stupidest thing in the past year. As they examine the nominees, things get nasty, and Amy learns things about Paul and his family that she can certainly live without. It's a comedy that borders on farce.
